What are the advantages of the robotic method in bariatric surgery?

In the US, there is a gold standard for gastric bypass bariatric surgery. This gold standard constitutes a large part of bariatric surgeries. However, laparoscopic gastric bypass is a procedure that requires advanced laparoscopic skills and has a high degree of difficulty. Robotic gastric bypass results are remarkable, thanks to the 3D, high-resolution camera system and wrist-controlled, ergonomic robotic arms offered by robotic surgery. Advances in robotic technology such as the robotically applicable stapler, that is, automatic suture technology, have made robotic gastric bypass surgery an important option in bariatric surgeries.

Robotic arms used in robotic surgery are the product of wrist-controlled, ergonomic technology that eliminates vibration and provides freedom of movement to the surgeon. The robotic arms prevent the loss of depth sense in the 3D robotic camera, and the magnification capacity gives the surgeon a feeling of their hands inside the patient's body.

What are the advantages of the robotic method in obesity surgery?

Thanks to high-tech robotic surgery, patients have less postoperative pain compared to open surgeries, and their hospitalization and return to normal activities are shorter. The rarer risk of infection and the extremely low blood loss are other important results of robotic surgery. Effective and sustainable weight loss success is achieved with robotic gastric bypass surgery.
